Hergé’s Tin Tin is one of those cartoons that will entertain both young and old forever. It’s unsurprising then that the film has just been nominated for not one, but two BAFTA’s. And with any big blockbuster these days, there’s a game to go with the film.
It was a game I was keen to play. Nostalgia took over and at Christmas I had the perfect excuse to adventure through the windy seas and the stormy skies with my step son. The game is easy to pick up and can be played with Kinect or if you’re feeling a little bit old school, you can always just use the good old controllers.
The graphics I found were good and the play was flowing. My favourite part was probably the fight scenes with the comedy punches and creeping up on enemies. You do have to watch out though if you’re playing two player as you can unintentionally beat your partner us, as I found out – a very unimpressed 7 year old starring at me angrily. oops!
This is definitely one for the family. It can be played with one or two players and is delightfully fun. A firm favourite in my household. We give it an excellent 4/5
When I asked my 7 year old step son what he wanted for Christmas, there was only one thing on his list… Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure. Being aware of the original series, I was totally baffled when he tried to explain what it was. A couple of days later, I was offered the opportunity to review the game and everything become clear!
Activisions Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventures is a multi player adventure game for all ages. Bringing this new concept in gaming to your living room, just in time for Christmas, the game features Spyro (which you may know from the PS1 series years ago) and his friends Trigger Happy and Gill Grunt. ‘For Generations, the Skylanders have used their magical powers and weapons to protect Skylands. But now, an evil tyrant has frozen them and banished them to Earth. Only you can put them on the Portal Of Power and bring them to life to save Skylands forever.’
The pack comes with a ‘portal of power’ which brings your character to life on screen. It’s a beautifully thought out game which will certainly not disappoint your little one this Christmas. As well as the characters, portal of power and the game, the pack also includes trading cards, a sticker sheet and webcodes to use on the Skylander site. A great package to give your little one this Christmas and there are also 30 characters to collect keeping the adventure alive.
The game is available on XBOX 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii. RRP is £59.99, however, is available from a number of online retailers for around £45. This is going to be a clear winner this Christmas!
What do I do if my child is being cyber-bullied?

Looking for something luxurious for your gadgets this Christmas? Well… Look no further! Whether it’s for yourself or someone else, we have two fantastic luxurious brands for you.
Women are embracing technology more and more in recent years and with the gadgets comes the chance to accessorise. Obviously, we like to look sophisticated and chic sometimes and so the Capulet and Knomo brands are perfect for this!
Starting with the beautiful Capulet covers. Capulet produce the most beautiful, high quality cases for the iPad, iPhone, Kindle and laptops. Even before you’ve unwrapped the Capulet cases, you feel the quality. I have to say, I was extremely excited to receive the samples and they didn’t disappoint. The cases come in different colours and designs. Price wise, they aren’t cheap, but I’ve always felt that you get what you pay for and so having seen these beautiful samples, quality is certainly something that you won’t be disappointed in.
To accompany these beautiful cases, we have found the equally gorgeous Knomo Silvi bag. This bag is made of beautiful soft leather and has a stunning majestic purple lining. With it’s gorgeous gold finishing, it’s certainly the luxurious bag to go with the Capulet range. Knomo also produce beautiful cases for iPhones, iPads and laptops. Again, Knomo products are above average, but outstanding quality well worth the price. The Knomo Silvi is my favourite from the Knomo range and at a fantastic price of just £125.
The only down side is that I have to part with these stunning samples and return them to the PRs – I am truly gutted. They are certainly a must have for any business woman or chic gadget chick. I’d better get saving or start sweet talking the Hubby for my Christmas present!

Take Away food is always the easy option and with hungryhouse.co.uk‘s new iPhone app, this is made even easier! I’m generally critical about ordering on mobile in general, but when I tried the hungryhouse app out, it was very easy and fuss free.
Once you’ve signed up, just log in. Go to ‘My Order’ and add your location. You can add more than one location for quick access the next time you visit. They also have a ‘nearby’ button if you’re unsure exactly where abouts you may be, which certainly comes in handy when you’re travelling within the UK.
Once you’ve chosen your location, you will be shown a list of local restaurants. You have the ability to filter the search by your preferred cuisine, favourite cusines, budget, open restaurants or those with free delivery.
Once you’ve made your choice, it’s time to choose your order and submit. This will then take you through to the payment screen, which is all very straight forward.
Then kick back, relax and wait for your food to arrive! It couldn’t be simpler. The hardest part for me was actually choosing what food I wanted!
The hungryhouse app is free and can be downloaded from the app store. You can also order your takeaway online at www.hungryhouse.co.uk.
